Taihan Electric Wire reports Kuwait project

Taihan Electric Wire Kuwait Power Grid Project Strengthens Regional Power Network

Taihan Electric Wire (TEW)ย has secured a major contract to enhance the power infrastructure of Kuwait City, the capital of Kuwait. Theย Taihan Electric Wire Kuwait power grid projectย aims to improve electricity reliability and support the cityโ€™s growing energy demands.

$65 Million Turnkey Power Grid Contract

According to a company press release, the Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water & Renewable Energy (MEW) awarded TEW anย extra-high voltage (EHV)ย turnkey project worth more than $65 million. The project involves building an underground power grid connecting existing substations across Kuwait City.

TEW will manage the entire processโ€”design, installation, connection, and testingโ€”while supplying critical materials such asย 300 kV EHV cables and connectors. This integrated approach ensures both efficiency and quality in every stage of development.

Global Competition and Technological Excellence

The Kuwait project was highly competitive, with strict bidding requirements that allowed only top global firms to participate. For EHV power grids in the 300โ€“400 kV range, only a handful of European and Japanese companies typically qualify.

Despite this tough environment,ย Taihan Electric Wireย secured the win. The companyโ€™s proven record with Kuwaitโ€™s Ministry of Electricity and Water, along with its strong technological capabilities and project expertise, played a key role in the selection.

Expanding Local Presence with Optical Cable Production

In addition to the Kuwait power grid project, TEW has started building Kuwaitโ€™s firstย optical cable production facility. The new factory will become a local hub for advanced cable manufacturing. Taihan expects construction to finish by the end of the year, further strengthening its presence in the Middle East energy sector.

Continued Leadership in Global Energy Infrastructure

Theย Taihan Electric Wire Kuwait power grid projectย highlights the companyโ€™s ongoing leadership in energy infrastructure and EHV technology. TEW continues to deliver large-scale turnkey solutions that enhance reliability, support energy transition goals, and power urban growth around the world.
