Teknor Apex acquires Nu-Pro Polymers

Teknor Apex Nu‑Pro Polymers Acquisition Supports Sustainable PVC

Teknor Apex acquired Nu‑Pro Polymers, a Wheeling, Illinois–based producer of reprocessed and recycled flexible PVC pellet compounds. Nu‑Pro focuses on turning PVC waste streams into new products that still deliver strong performance for customers.

Nu‑Pro works with clean post‑industrial (PIR) PVC streams and converts them into fresh PVC compounds that perform like prime materials. The company specializes in clear, natural, and black reprocessed compounds across a wide range of durometers. Co‑owner Don Brown noted that Nu‑Pro’s flexible, recycled PVC compounds can contain up to 90% post‑industrial recycled content, so customers can increase sustainability without sacrificing quality.

Cycle‑Tek Brand Extends Teknor Apex Recycled PVC Offerings

Under the Teknor Apex Nu‑Pro Polymers acquisition, Nu‑Pro will continue to produce materials for Teknor Apex under the Cycle‑Tek brand as a Teknor subsidiary. This approach lets customers keep using familiar Nu‑Pro formulations while also gaining access to Teknor Apex’s broader technical support and global production network.

Teknor Apex Executive Vice President Lou Cappucci said the company feels excited about this step. He explained that the acquisition helps Teknor Apex develop more innovative compounds that meet both performance and sustainability requirements. In turn, customers can choose more eco‑friendly PVC solutions that still handle demanding applications.

Advancing Vinyl as a Sustainable Material

Sunny Mahajan, Sr., technical manager at Teknor Apex and business manager for Cycle‑Tek, stated that the Teknor Apex Nu‑Pro Polymers acquisition helps keep vinyl a sustainable choice in plastics manufacturing. The deal supports Teknor Apex’s broader efforts to increase recycled content, cut waste, and strengthen circular material flows.

Headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Teknor Apex operates 14 manufacturing facilities worldwide. By adding Nu‑Pro’s recycling expertise, Teknor Apex deepens its recycled PVC portfolio and reinforces its commitment to sustainable, high‑performance vinyl compounds.
