U.S. utility-level wind turbine 1st achieved

Theย Hellenic Cables South Fork Wind projectย has achieved a major milestone by successfully delivering power fromย New Yorkโ€™s first offshore wind turbine. The company, part ofย Cenergy Holdings, played a key role in the installationโ€”marking a crucial step in developing theย first U.S. utilityโ€‘scale offshore wind farm in federal waters.

For the South Fork Wind project,ย Hellenic Cablesย designed, manufactured, tested, and terminatedย 30โ€ฏkm of 66โ€ฏkV XLPEโ€‘insulated subsea interโ€‘array cablesย andย associated accessories. The cables were produced at the companyโ€™sย Corinth, Greece facility, which specializes in advanced offshore energy systems.

This achievement demonstrates Hellenic Cablesโ€™ dedication to supporting major renewable energy projects and its growing influence in the U.S. offshore wind market.

According toย Alexis Alexiou, CEO ofย Cenergy Holdings, the success reflects teamwork and technical excellence. โ€œThis accomplishment shows the dedication and expertise of everyone involved in this pioneering project,โ€ Alexiou said. โ€œWeโ€™re proud to work with industry leaders such asย ร˜rstedย andย Eversourceย on a project that helps shape the clean energy future of the United States.โ€

Beyond South Fork Wind,ย Hellenic Cablesย continues expanding its presence across the U.S. offshore wind sector. The company has secured contracts to supply interโ€‘array cables for leading renewable energy projects, includingย Revolution Windย in Connecticut and Rhode Island,ย SouthCoast Windย in Massachusetts, andย Dominion Energyโ€™s Coastal Virginia Offshore Windย project.

With each installation, Hellenic Cables strengthens its portfolio in North America and reinforces its reputation as a trusted partner in the global transition to sustainable energy.
