Xtera Selected for ARBR Submarine Fiber Optic Cable Linking Argentina and Brazil
Xtera has secured a contract to supply the ARBR submarine fiber optic cable system, strengthening connectivity between Argentina and Brazil. This Xtera ARBR submarine cable system will improve regional data transmission and support growing demand for low-latency connectivity.
Xtera ARBR Submarine Cable System Enhances Regional Connectivity
To begin with, Xtera (https://www.xtera.com) will deliver a 2,700-kilometer subsea cable system featuring four fiber pairs and up to 48 Tbps capacity. The system will directly connect key landing points between the two countries.
Seaborn Networks (https://www.seabornnetworks.com) and the Werthein Group (https://www.werthein.com.ar) are jointly developing the project.
Direct Route to Major Global Markets
In addition, the ARBR system will connect to New York through the existing Seabras-1 network. As a result, it will create a faster and more efficient route between major commercial hubs, including Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and New York.
This direct connection will significantly reduce latency and improve performance for financial and enterprise data traffic.
High-Capacity Subsea Technology
Furthermore, Xtera will deploy advanced subsea fiber optic technologies, including both repeatered and unrepeatered systems. The company’s solutions support up to 40 terabits per second on a single fiber pair, ensuring high bandwidth and scalability.
The project is already fully funded, which supports timely deployment and execution.
