WAI Education Center continues growth with new full extrusion course bundle

WAI News
WAI’s Education Center has introduced a complete extrusion learning path for operators, bundling four foundational courses into one flexible program that supports both broad training and targeted skill-building. The launch, highlighted by an “Extrusion Exploration” webinar, signals growing momentum and expanding opportunities for industry professionals to learn, contribute, and stay connected.

The Wire Association International (WAI) (https://wirenet.org) has launched a new WAI extrusion course through its Education Center. This complete training program gives operators a structured learning path to build core extrusion knowledge and skills.

The release marks a key milestone as WAI continues to expand its digital training resources for the wire and cable industry.

WAI Extrusion Course Program Overview

The WAI extrusion course combines four core training modules into one comprehensive program:

  • Single layer extrusion overview
  • Extrusion materials
  • Extrusion applications
  • Special process considerations

This bundled format helps participants develop a strong foundational understanding of extrusion processes. At the same time, WAI allows users to purchase each course separately, so they can focus on specific topics that match their role.

Industry Engagement and Training Growth

To support the launch, WAI hosted an Extrusion Exploration webinar led by Richard Chamberlain of Hawkins Consulting, LLC (https://hawkinsconsultingllc.com). He played a key role in developing the curriculum and guiding the program’s structure.

The webinar attracted strong attendance and engagement. This response highlights the growing demand for accessible, structured extrusion training across the industry.

According to John Markowski, WAI’s Manager of Education, more individuals and companies continue to explore the platform. As a result, WAI expects continued growth in participation throughout 2026, along with the release of additional training programs.

Opportunities to Get Involved with WAI

WAI encourages professionals across the wire and cable industry to take part in its education initiatives. Individuals and companies can contribute in several ways:

  • Present at industry conferences
  • Submit technical papers
  • Lead webinars or training sessions
  • Serve as subject matter experts
  • Join committees such as the Education Committee or Paper Awards Committee

These opportunities help professionals stay current with industry trends, while also building stronger technical knowledge and industry connections.
