Scholarship applications are now open through The Wire Association International (WAI) chapters in New England, the Midwest, the Ohio Valley, and the Southeast. Eligible chapter members in good standing may nominate a family member, and WAI has streamlined the application process to make participation easier than ever.
Simple online application process
Applicants can begin the process by visiting the appropriate application form or by contacting WAI Project Manager Vanessa Lewis at vlewis@wirenet.org for assistance. All completed applications must be received by March 31 to be considered.
The simplified online format reflects WAIโs continued effort to reduce barriers and encourage broader participation across its regional chapters.
Strong chapter support sustains scholarships
WAI noted that chapter members have consistently demonstrated strong support for the scholarship program over the years. Many contributors continue to give generously even when they do not have eligible applicants within their own households.
Funding for the scholarships comes primarily from chapter-led fundraising activities, including golf tournaments and annual meetings, supplemented by support from the WAI Foundation. These combined efforts help sustain educational opportunities for students connected to the wire and cable industry.
Investing in the industryโs future
Through its scholarship programs, WAI chapters reinforce the associationโs long-standing commitment to workforce development and education. By supporting students and families connected to the industry, the program helps strengthen the future talent pipeline for wire and cable manufacturing and related fields.
WAI expressed its appreciation to all chapter volunteers, donors, and organizers whose continued involvement has made the scholarship program a lasting success.
