Webinar: Differentiating High-Quality PCD Wire Dies

WAI Event
Webinar-270x140
  September 17, 2025 11:00 AM

  Zoom

The webinar “Differentiating High-Quality PCD Wire Dies”, presented by Hector Ferrer Ribas and Andrew Gledhill, is a technical session designed for wire die tool makers and wire producers. The presenters will cover the fundamentals of carbide and PCD (polycrystalline diamond), highlighting key factors that differentiate high-quality wire dies from substandard ones. The session will feature an interactive segment, potentially using a Kahoot game, to engage participants in identifying red flags, such as EDM cutting problems and cracks. Attendees will gain insights into the causes and consequences of material defects, including their impact on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). A practical checklist will be provided to assess superior products based on manufacturing processes, material consistency, traceability, and supplier expertise. The webinar will also explore state-of-the-art innovations in PCD materials, testing methods to prove quality, and the importance of certifications and quality assurance processes.

This webinar is organized by The Wire Association International’s Education Center and Hyperion Materials & Technologies.
