Iowa Spring acquires Northeast Spring

Iowa Spring Strengthens National Manufacturing Network

Iowa Springย has expanded its U.S. operations after acquiringย Northeast Springย of Reading, Pennsylvania. The familyโ€‘owned company has served customers for over 25 years, producingย customโ€‘made springsย known for their precision and reliability.

A Strategic Move for Growth

The deal closed onย September 15, marking another key milestone in Iowa Springโ€™s growth. The acquisition helps the company build its presence as a top supplier ofย precisionโ€‘made springsย for theย overhead door, construction, agriculture,ย andย recreational equipmentย industries.

โ€œWeโ€™re proud to continue Northeast Springโ€™s legacy,โ€ saidย Tim Bianco, President and CEO of Iowa Spring. โ€œTheir reputation for quality and service perfectly matches our values and longโ€‘term vision.โ€

Operations Continue Under the Same Team

Northeast Spring will keep its name and leadership team in place. Founderย John Oโ€™Learyย will remain with the company for at least three years to support a smooth transition.

The business operates from two locations: itsย headquarters in Reading, Pennsylvania, and itsย production site in Villa Rica, Georgia. It mainly serves theย overhead door industry, manufacturing springs fromย .080 to .625โ€‘inch wire diameters. Materials includeย 302/304 stainless steel, music wire, chrome silicon, oilโ€‘tempered, andย hardโ€‘drawn wire.

Shared Vision and Company Values

โ€œWith so many spring companies being absorbed by large investment firms, I wanted a buyer who believes in family values,โ€ saidย Oโ€™Leary. โ€œIowa Spring fits that model perfectly. They value people and quality just as we always have.โ€

Expanding the Iowa Spring Family

Tim Biancoย will now oversee Northeast Springโ€™s operations along with Iowa Springโ€™s other facilities. Those include theย original Iowa Spring location, itsย 55,000โ€‘squareโ€‘foot expansion facility, and its sister company,ย Southern Atlantic Spring, based in Granite Quarry, North Carolina.

Together, these facilities increase the companyโ€™s production capacity, expand its technical reach, and strengthen itsย customerโ€‘focused service approach. With shared goals and complementary expertise, the combined team is wellโ€‘positioned for continued success.
