Amphenol Completes $2 Billion Acquisition of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies

Amphenol Corporation continues its active growth strategy with the $2 billion acquisition of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT), a division of Carlisle Companies Incorporated. The acquisition strengthens Amphenolโ€™s range of harsh environment interconnect solutions and expands its reach across global markets.

Expanding Expertise in High-Performance Interconnect Solutions

Amphenol will integrate CITโ€™s advanced productsโ€”wire and cablecable assembliesconnectorscontacts, and sensorsโ€”into its existing operations. These technologies serve critical sectors such as aerospacedefense, and industrial manufacturing, all of which demand durable, high-quality components.

R. Adam Norwitt, Amphenolโ€™s President and CEO, welcomed the addition of 6,000 new employees to the company. โ€œBringing CIT into Amphenol allows us to provide more comprehensive, cutting-edge solutions for customers tackling complex applications in harsh environments,โ€ he said.

Building on a Strong Legacy

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies traces its roots back to 1940, when Henry Dudley Minich founded Tensolite in Tarrytown, New York. Starting with just six employees, CIT has grown into a global enterprise with nine U.S. locationsthree in Mexicoone in Switzerland, and two in China.

In 2024, CIT expects to generate approximately $900 million in sales with an EBITDA margin near 20%, illustrating a solid financial foundation as it joins Amphenol.

Aligning with Carlisleโ€™s Vision 2030

Chris Koch, Chairman, CEO, and President of Carlisle Companies, said the sale supports Carlisleโ€™s Vision 2030 strategy. โ€œThis transaction moves us closer to becoming a premier, pure-play building products company,โ€ Koch explained.

Meanwhile, the deal also allows Amphenol to deepen its presence in mission-critical connectivity markets. Regulatory approval is expected later this year, after which the integration process will begin.
