Wardwell Strengthens Global Reach with Cobra Braiding Machinery Acquisition

Wardwell Braiding Companyย announced that it has acquiredย Cobra Braiding Machineryย and the assets of the U.K.-based business. This move unites two respected names in the braiding industry, enhancing capabilities for wire and cable harness production worldwide.

Expanding Wardwellโ€™s Global Braiding Portfolio

Founded inย 1981,ย Cobra Braiding Machineryย is a fourth-generation family-operated manufacturer known for its high-performance wire harness and cable harness braiding machines. The company has earned a strong global reputation, serving markets such asย heavy vehicles, agriculture, construction, mining, defense, marine, and aerospace.

Cobra exports almost all of its machinery to regions including theย United States, Mexico, Europe, China, Japan, and Australia. Its industry-leading models, including theย Cobra 450, will now become part of Wardwellโ€™s product portfolio.

Synergy Between Wardwell and Cobra

Wardwell operates under the umbrella ofย Wilms Group, a German industrial group that includes leading wire and cable equipment manufacturers such asย SKET, Henrich, andย Spirka-Schnellflechter. The acquisition strengthens this international network and expands its combined offering to the global wire and cable market.
