LS Cable has completed its 2nd telecom plant in India, may be expanding in Poland

South Korea’s LS Cable & System (LS Cable) announced that the company has completed construction of its second telecommunications plant in India, where it has doubled its production capacity.

Per reports in The Korea Herald and JoonGang Daily, LS Cable plans to bolster LS Cable & System India (LSCI) as a specialized production base for communications harness to respond to India’s rapidly growing domestic market and target overseas markets such as Europe and North America. It will supply communications harnesses that are used to connect mobile communications base stations and antennas to the wider network.

LG Cable & System accounts for about 20% of the market in India. In 2008, LS Cable established its first factory in India, a country with nearly 1.2 billion mobile phone subscribers that has just started to gear up for the commercialization of 5G.

“As many Indian global mobile carriers have announced plans to invest tens of trillions of won, telecommunications equipment companies are expected to grow sharply there,” an LS Cable & System statement said. “Global telecom equipment companies such as Ericsson and Nokia are fostering global sourcing bases in India,” said LSCI’s Park Hyun-ho. “We plan to secure quality by computerizing quality control systems and expand the market.”
