WAI's Online Learnning Platform
The WAI Education Center has expanded its online video training platform to meet the evolving needs of the wire and cable manufacturing workforce. The program offers expert-led, on-demand courses with interactive content, real-world applications, quizzes, and digital certificates designed for flexible individual and corporate training.

Madison, Connecticut, USA โ€“ January 14, 2026 โ€“ The Wire Association International Inc. (WAI) announces the expansion of its professional development video training courses.

The online platform offers on-demand access to both ferrous and nonferrous courses delivered by industry experts. With interactive content, multimedia resources, and up-to-date technical information, the platform empowers students to expand their knowledge and skills at their own pace, from any location. Each course follows a structured, user-friendly format, combining industry-leading content with practical application for real-world scenarios.

Courses currently include:

  • Introduction to Ferrous Metallurgy
  • Single-Layer Extrusion Overview
  • Extrusion Applications
  • Extrusion Materials
  • Extrusion Special Process Considerations
  • Manufacturing Safety

Courses are divided into clear, topic-focused videos for easy navigation through the material. Each five-minute video lesson builds on the prior video; each course typically includes seven videos. Video content incorporates actual footage from wire making facilities, interactive animations, and visual demonstrations, to bring complex technical concepts to life.

The program includes a quiz after each video lessonโ€”a pre-requisite to advance to the next lessonโ€”and a digital certificate of completion.

John Markowski, WAIโ€™s Manager of Education, said โ€œAfter an initial soft launch in Q4 2024, the program has progressed to include more offerings and definite interest for both individual and corporate training. We expect the option to purchase courses separately or bundled will be both convenient and practical.โ€
