Members of the WAI New England Chapter gathered on January 25 at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut for their annual dinner. The event brought together industry professionals to review achievements, recognize contributors, and discuss the future of manufacturing in Connecticut.

Outgoing 2023 Chapter President Jessica Foss of Electric Cable Compounds, Inc. (https://www.electriccablecompounds.com) welcomed attendees and thanked volunteers and sponsors for their continued support.

New Chapter President Ryan Carbray of Alphagary (https://www.alphagary.com) outlined the chapter’s direction and emphasized continued collaboration within the regional industry.
He highlighted key accomplishments from 2023, including:
- Six scholarships awarded at $2,500 each
- A successful annual golf tournament
- Ongoing support for education and workforce development
Carbray also confirmed that applications for the 2024 scholarship program must be submitted by March 31.

The chapter recognized its 2023 scholarship recipients, representing families across the wire and cable industry. In addition, Carbray introduced new and returning board members from companies such as:

Keynote Addresses Workforce Challenges
Paul S. Lavoie, Chief Manufacturing Officer for the State of Connecticut, delivered the keynote address. He focused on workforce challenges and emphasized the need to attract new talent.
Lavoie encouraged companies to collaborate with schools and consider flexible work arrangements to better support today’s workforce.
