New England Chapter welcomes new year with great speaker and dinner

The WAI New England Chapter annual meeting 2025 brought industry professionals together on February 6 at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. Although winter weather created challenges, attendees still enjoyed a strong evening of networking, leadership updates, and industry engagement.

The chapter introduced Annaliese Sviokla of https://www.gemgravure.com (Gem Gravure) as 2025 President. At the same time, members recognized Ryan Carbray of https://www.alphagary.com (Alphagary) for his leadership as 2024 President.

In addition, the chapter welcomed new board members:

  • David Roberge of https://www.sjogren.com (Sjogren Industries Inc.)
  • Sean Donnelly of https://www.kinrei.com (Kinrei of America LLC)
  • Shawn Stavely of https://www.gendon.com (Gendon Polymer Services Inc.)

Sviokla shared her enthusiasm for the role and emphasized her commitment to continued growth. She also credited mentors and colleagues, including leadership at Gem Gravure, for supporting her career in the wire and cable industry.

2024 Achievements and Chapter Growth

Ryan Carbray reviewed key accomplishments from 2024. Notably, the chapter hosted its 30th Annual Golf Tournament, which drew more than 160 participants, marking a record turnout.

Additionally, the chapter awarded three $2,500 scholarships, continuing its investment in future industry professionals. Members also participated in a facility tour at https://www.accelinternational.com (ACCEL International) in Cheshire, Connecticut.

Carbray emphasized that event participation directly supports the scholarship fund, reinforcing the importance of continued member involvement.

Keynote Speaker on Employee Engagement

Ramon Peralta of https://www.peraltadesign.com (Peralta Design) delivered the keynote presentation. He focused on employee engagement strategies, offering practical insights that resonated with attendees.

Industry leaders praised both the presentation and the event. Paul Gemelli of Gem Gravure highlighted the value of the meeting, noting the strong turnout, relevant content, and high-quality networking opportunities.
