The Wire Association International (WAI) continues to advance the wire and cable industry. To support this goal, the organization has introduced a new leadership role: Director of Education.
New Education Leadership Role
First, WAI created the Director of Education position to strengthen its training and workforce development initiatives. According to Executive Director Steve Fetteroll, this role will guide educational programs for professionals in manufacturing and supplier operations.
In addition, the role will oversee training program development and management. It will also support conference programming when needed. WAI will manage the training program’s financials separately to maintain focus and accountability.
Workforce Development Focus
Next, WAI aligned this role with its long-term workforce development strategy. The Board of Directors approved this initiative to address ongoing industry labor challenges.
As a result, WAI will seek experienced industry professionals with proven expertise. These candidates will help train and mentor the next generation of talent.
Expanding Training Capabilities
At the same time, WAI continues to grow its digital training platform. This platform supports operator-level education and delivers flexible learning options across the industry.
