Wire submerged in crude oil was created by Martin M Iraizoz
Good morning everyone.
I would like to know if anyone has experience with wires submerged into crude oil.
Insulation compound is critical, for crude oil is quite aggressive with it. The use of the wires is for heating the crude oil in the tubing (Joule effect). The wire should not have any protective metal sheating, then it could damage the plastic tubing.
Does anyone know any supplier that can satisfy the above mentioned requirements?.
Thanks in advance,
Regards.

Hello Martin,

Just in case you do not receive a specific reply to your query, we recommend that you contact all your polymer suppliers to see if they have a compound that might fit your needs. Their chemistry people will likely ask for a sample of the crude oil you are referencing.
