Wire break during drawing was created by Archived Forum Admin
Dear experts,
I found many times wire broken during drawing becasue of lube starvation.
We using pressure die and mechenical descaler and dry lube drawing.
Does anyone have some ideas on how can we improve to reduce lube starvation and then reduce wire break?
Thankd in advance.

good day Jincai..

We use an Applicator on wire to stop dry lube tunneling, this applies pressure to wire and adheres the soap better, The company that makes these eludes me, but i'm sure someone has that info.

To avoid wire breakages, check:
1.- Wire Rod Quality(God Surface Quality,No Segregations,No Pipe).
2.- Adequate Die Profile
3.- Good calculation of the die series (adequate distribution of Reductions of area)
4.- Good lubrication(Good Carrier, Adequate type if lubricant.- sodium or calcium base).
5.- Adequate Drawing speed in relation of the above mentioned parameters.
