Discoloration
I am trying to anneal a copper-zinc alloy with a 7% zinc and 93% copper in a nitrogen-hydrogen environment. The problem is that the color of my wire changes from red to yellow.
Please suggest at what temp should I use nitrogen and to what extent should I anneal it.

Hello anil,
This is considered a bronze alloy and I don't have an answer for you but I do know where two spots where you may be able to get a proper answer.
The first is the Copper Development Association Inc. at www.copper.org/
Go to "Resources" / "Questions?". Fill out the form and state your question there.
The second is EBNER Industrieofenbau (Austrian) at www.ebnerfurnaces.com/
I suggest you contact the Manager of the Service Department, Hermann Fleischanderl at fh@ebner.cc
Please let us know how you make out.
