WAI Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing Course Comes to Texas
The WAI wire manufacturing course will debut as a standalone regional event on October 10, 2018, at the Sheraton McKinney Hotel in McKinney, Texas. With this expansion, the Wire Association International (WAI) aims to make its most popular training program more accessible to industry professionals.
WAI Wire Manufacturing Course Expands Regional Access
WAI designed this introductory workshop to provide a strong foundation in wire and cable manufacturing. Industry experts lead the course and deliver practical insights for new hires, sales teams, and operations personnel.
The curriculum covers key topics such as wire drawing mechanics, drawing dies, lubricants, wire breaks and surface damage, and cable stranding. In addition, participants will learn about rod cleaning and coating, extrusion, electrical testing basics, and ferrous metallurgy.
Industry Training and Networking Opportunities
WAI will bring together 10 industry professionals to deliver in-depth instruction throughout the one-day program. Attendees will also gain valuable networking opportunities, which support collaboration across the evolving wire industry.
According to WAI Director of Education Marc Murray, the program’s growing popularity drove the decision to expand regionally. By offering local access, WAI helps professionals improve their skills more conveniently while staying current with industry developments.
Registration and Additional Plant Tours
The registration fee is $195 for WAI members and $295 for nonmembers. This fee includes course materials and lunch.
On October 11, 2018, participants can also join optional plant tours at Encore Wire and Wire & Plastic Machinery Corp. for $25 per tour.
