Wire Draw Dies was created by Archived Forum Admin
We recently purchased a used Vaughn 5/6 Multi Head Wire Draw Machine.
The First drawing station is a double draw on a single shaft. The drive motor for this station is controled by a potentiometer and is based on the speed of the next draw head.
I understand the Die selection for this double draw station is very critical to prevent breaking the wire.
Question; What are the parameters to consider in calculating the die sizes for this double draw station.

The parameters are de diameters of the same block (Top and Bottom ) and the die reduction of area
%die reduction =
100-100(Bottom Block Diameter/Top Block Diam)
