Drawing lubricant for Aluminum was created by Mr Nima Rahati
Hi every one

Do we have darwing lubricant usable for AL and CU? Already in our factory we must change drawing lubricant from CU to Al and opposite and it takes much time. We are looking for a drawing lubricant suitable for both Al and Cu. Can we use Al lubricant for Cu?

thanks

Hello again Nima,

There are copper and aluminum fines suspended in the respective drawing lubricants. Drawing copper with a lubricant containing suspended aluminum fines or vice verse would contaminate the surface of the wire with imbedded fines. Thus we suggest that a common lubricant for both metals is not possible.
