Extruder selection was created by Mr Raghav Rao
Hi All,
I am a new member. We are planning to setup PTFE insulated wire plant in India.
Since we are new to this process, I need to understand how to decide whether to go for Vertical or Horizontal ram type extruders for insulating stranded Nickel conductor wires.
Below are the few spec of the product range.
1) Min Conductor dia: 0.6 mm (Stranded)
2) Min thickness of insulation: 0.2mm per side
3) Max Conductor dia: 3.5mm (Stranded)
4) Max thickness of insulation: 0.8 mm

Hello Raghav,
I seriously doubt if anyone will reply to your question because if you later believe that you made bad decisions based on what you believe to be bad advice, law suits could indeed arise. The decision as to the equipment design is therefore yours and yours alone. It should be based on discussions with various equipment suppliers and evaluations of their presentations of the various equipment designs. The best presentations should be from equipment manufacturers that manufacture both horizontal and vertical extrusion designs.
