WAI News
Vanessa Lewis has joined the Wire Association International as project manager, overseeing member relations, chapter activities, and project support. A 2024 communications graduate of Purchase College, she will assist with WAI’s AMS transition, chapter events, and the launch of the new wirenet.org.

The Wire Association International (WAI) welcomed Vanessa Lewis as its new project manager, where she now serves as the primary contact for member relations. Learn more about WAI at https://www.wirenet.org/.

Background and Industry Experience

Lewis earned a B.S. in Communications from Purchase College at SUNY in 2024. Before joining WAI, she worked as a production assistant at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut. This experience strengthened her coordination and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities at WAI

In her new role, Lewis manages several core functions. She oversees chapter coordination, leads new member onboarding and renewals, and supports meeting planning and project management. In addition, she contributes to WAI’s association management software (AMS) operations and circulation efforts.

Supporting Member Engagement and Events

Lewis also serves as the staff liaison to the Member Relations Committee and all WAI chapters. To start, she met with Chairman Brian Steinbruegge of Insteel Industries (https://www.insteel.com/) to ensure a smooth transition.

She has already begun active engagement in WAI events. She attended the Ohio Valley Chapter Outing in August and will provide on-site support at the New England and Southeast Chapter outings in the coming months.

Leadership Perspective and Future Initiatives

WAI Executive Director Steve Fetteroll expressed strong support for Lewis’s addition to the team. He noted her early impact and positive contributions.

Looking ahead, Lewis will play a role in WAI’s transition to a new AMS platform, which is currently underway. She will also support the rollout of the updated WAI website at https://www.wirenet.org/.
